Unless you live far enough south, you’re probably not crazy enough to try to ride all year.  I am one of those crazy few who rides through winter, but I only ride one of my motorcycles; I store the other one, as it isn’t suited for riding in the snow.  Storing your motorcycle for winter is easier than you might think.  Here are the basics to ensure your ride is… Read More

Race Fever

Seth Mason Dawson and I

Working in the retail store at Motorcyclecloseouts has given me the chance to get to know our customers on a different level. The best example of this comes in the form of three motocross loving middle schoolers. As much as I hate to admit it, Mason, Seth, and Dawson have swindled their way into my child-hating heart. Over the Course of one  weekend the boys pulled out the big guns; they shared with me their love for motocross and the true meaning of race fever.

New Indian, Same Old (Astronomical) Pricing

thunder stroke

According to a Ride Apart, the new Indian Chief V-Twin motorcycle is going to be sold this summer at a price of $19,000. Purchased by Polaris Industries, the hope is that reviving the brand will bring big new things onto the roads of America and beyond, but with the last couple of attempts at firing new life into the brand have failed, the exclusive price tag seems unfortunately familiar.… Read More

This past weekend was the start of the 2013 Heartland Park Topeka track day season!  Despite some high winds and some, at times, frigid temperatures, over 100 riders braved the variable elements over the course of two days to test themselves against the track, learn a bit about control and have fun in the process. Google Street Tour of a Motorcycle Dealership?

We’ve all seen Google’s Street View app of Google Maps…  And the hilarity that it captures sometimes.  But I’ve never seen Street View go inside of a dealership before!! Arun Sharma and crew at the multiple-award winning Ducati dealership, MotoCorsa are known for being innovative but being able to tour their dealership via the interwebs… Well, it kinda takes the cake! Using Street View, you can virtually walk through the front door of… Read More

Husqvarna Moves to KTM

husqvarna-nuda-900-1000x288

Austria’s KTM and Germany’s BMW are motorcycling rivals when it comes to motorcycling.  From adventure riding to luxury touring, the two motorcycle manufacturers have competed against each other for a long time.  So, it comes as a bit of irony to learn that BMW sold off the Italian firm, Husqvarna to the partially Indian-owned KTM this past week. Buys and mergers from auto manufacturer’s are usually done to share… Read More

Saturday at the Shop

a picture of a motorcycle closeouts employee

I can’t remember the last time we had a day this year above 30 degrees Fahrenheit, and today was 60!  That, of course, brought out the bikes and it was as if the retail shop was the place to be!  We were swamped and met plenty of new people as well as caught up with old friends.  We snapped a couple of quick phone pix during all the chaos today!
